1. Who we are
SnipBucks (“we,” “us,” or “our”) runs snipbucks.com, a site that helps you find Amazon product deals.
Questions about privacy? Email [email protected].
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what is collected automatically when you use the site, and what your sign-in provider shares when you choose to authenticate.
Information you provide
If you create an account, we may store your display name, email address, profile image, and identifiers linked to your sign-in method (Google or Discord). If you email us, we receive whatever you include in your message.
Account activity
When you're signed in, we may record which deal pages you view so we can show recently viewed deals on your account. We don't sell this history or use it for third-party advertising.
Automatically collected information
When you visit SnipBucks, we may automatically collect:
- A pseudonymous visitor ID in the cookie
sb_visitor_idto estimate daily active usage - Device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet)
- Approximate country or region, when available from hosting headers
- Session and authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in
- Performance metrics (page load time, responsiveness) in aggregate
- Server logs that may include IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps
Information from sign-in providers
If you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive profile information their policies allow — according to your settings and the permissions you approve. We never receive your Google or Discord password.
3. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Run, maintain, and improve SnipBucks
- Show deals, search results, and product details
- Manage accounts and recently viewed deal history
- Support optional features such as price alerts when enabled
- Measure usage, fix bugs, and monitor performance
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
- Respond to support requests
We may use aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you for analytics and service improvement.
4. Cookies
SnipBucks uses cookies for essential functionality, sign-in, analytics, and performance monitoring.
- Essential cookies — required for sign-in, sessions, and security
- Analytics cookies — help us understand usage with a pseudonymous ID, not your name
- Performance scripts — measure page speed and experience quality
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Disabling essential cookies may break sign-in and other core features.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in these cases:
- Service providers — hosting, database, authentication, and infrastructure vendors that process data on our behalf
- Sign-in providers — Google and Discord under their own privacy policies
- Merchant links — clicking Amazon links takes you off SnipBucks; we may add affiliate tracking as described in our Disclosure
- Legal and safety — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and site integrity
- Business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required
6. Data retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal and dispute purposes
- Recently viewed deals are kept while your account exists unless you request deletion
- Analytics and performance data are kept in aggregated or limited form
- Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information.
To submit a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may verify your identity before responding.
Account deletion
You can request account deletion by contacting us. Some data may be retained where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or backups.
Marketing
SnipBucks does not currently send promotional newsletters. If that changes, we will provide a clear opt-out.
8. U.S. state privacy notices
If you live in California or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights. SnipBucks does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those laws define those terms.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
9. International users
SnipBucks is operated from the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate.
Users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland may contact us to exercise rights under GDPR or similar laws.
10. Children's privacy
SnipBucks is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Third-party links
SnipBucks links to third-party sites including Amazon and OAuth providers. Their privacy practices are their own — review their policies before sharing information with them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be announced on the site. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, where permitted by law.
